EDITH SAINT-MARD

voice

Immersed in music from an early age, she began singing in a choir at the age of nine. Subsequently she studied piano and then singing. In 1988 she received a first prize in concert singing in the class of Jules Bastin at the Conservatoire royal de Bruxelles, then in 1990 a first prize in baroque chamber music.
From the choirs of the Théâtre de la Monnaie, the Chapelle Royale and Collegium Vocale, Ghent (under Philippe Herreweghe and Sigiswald Kuijken) to experience as a soloist in a wide range of musical and theatrical genres (medieval, baroque, renaissance and Spanish music, musicals, experimental music, contemporary music, children’s theatre), she displays a passion for a varied and creative repertoire. She has studied the music of Purcell (which she loves) and Dowland with Mark Deller and Robert Spencer.
Having fallen in love with Judeo-Spanish music, she founded La Roza Enflorese in 2000.
Since 2000, she has also been active as a writer (Vagues à l’âme (‘Waves in the soul’), detailing an initiatory journey and stories of shamanic voyages, to be published by Le Vivier), and runs women’s groups and creative workshops in conscious dance, meditation and mandala writing.
